The Benefits of Wooden Wick Candles
We often get questions on our wooden wicks, so we thought we would share why we use them, their benefits and how they are different from regular cotton wicks.
A clean burn: say goodbye to sooty residue and hello to a clean burning candle. Because wooden wicks don’t ‘mushroom’ they provide minimal carbon, soot, and debris build up. Wood wicks do not self trim, they must be trimmed by removing any charred wood from previous burns, and your flame will shine clean & bright! We recommend trimming your wick to 5mm BEFORE you light it; for the perfect burn.
Wood Wicks provide a wider fragrance throw: In a burn test between a wooden wick vs a traditional cotton wick candle, results showed that the wooden wicks diffuse heat more rapidly into the wax, and can push up to 35% more fragrance throw into a room, compared to cotton wicks.
So, what does this mean? It means your candle is working better, stronger, and faster at spreading it’s fragrance around your home.
A modern aesthetic: in addition to an awesome ambience, wooden wicks have a distinctive flat horizontal flame, giving your candle a modern feel that you won’t get with a cotton wick.
Toxic free: because our wicks are 100% wood, they are not only eco-friendly and sustainable, but also toxin and phthalate free.
Our wicks are made with wood from sappy fruit trees from FSC Certified Mills. Eco friendly & charitable: our wooden wick supplier uses wood sourced from FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified mills and for every £75.00 spent with them, they plant a tree with the “Trees for the Future” - an organization working to end hunger and poverty for small farmers through revitalising degraded lands.

About Our Wax Melts
Our mess free wax melt segment pots are made from recycled material, making them eco-friendly and much kind to the environment.
For our soy wax blend, your burner should have above a 40w bulb to be hot enough to dispense the fragrance adequately (many Scentsy burners do not get hot enough). Tea light burners burn at a higher temperature, so your fragrance may burn off faster and be stronger. We recommend a burner height of (minimum) 11cm and to use a maximum 4 hour sized tea light. Do not use the 6 or 8 hour large tea lights or add more than one tea light to your burner at a time, as this can cause a potential fire hazard, Your burner may get too hot and crack causing spilt wax to catch alight or result in wax damage to surfaces and carpets.
You may sometimes notice some frosting on the soy wax, this is a natural occurring trait of soy & vegetable waxes and does not effect the use or fragrance.
100% Fragrance Oils
Add a few drops of fragrance oil to the water in your humidifiers or electric or tea light warmers/burners as an alternative to wax melts.
100% high strength fragrance oils can also be used to scent our hanging Car Fresheners. Simply add a few drops for your desired strength and let it absorb before hanging.
Please note: This is NOT a refill solution for REED DIFFUSERS. Our Reed Diffusers are a controlled mix of oil and specialist carrier solution that allows the reeds to absorb the fragrance, thus dispersing it around the room. 100% fragrance oil will not disperse via reeds.
